For commissioners

Commissioner guide

A practical path for Discord dynasty commissioners — from invite through the weekly settle loop.

Discord + web admin

Run lines, bets, settlement, and league settings in Discord; manage the same league from the website after you sign in.

Interactive wizards

Most commissioner commands open private dropdowns, buttons, and forms — you rarely need to memorize slash options.

Weekly rhythm

Create matchups, let members bet, settle scores, enter stats, then set the next deadline.

Who can run admin tools

League staff can use commissioner slash commands and website admin pages. You qualify if any of these apply:

RoleAccess
Server ownerFull bot + website staff, including billing
AdministratorFull bot + website staff, including billing
Manage ServerFull bot + website staff, including billing
Commissioner roleBot + website admin tools when configured; billing still needs Manage Server or owner

Verify bot staff with /checkadmin when you can see it.

Install the bot

You need Manage Server or Administrator (or be the server owner). Invite the bot from Get started, authorize in your league server, then confirm with /ping.

Recommended permissions: Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files, Use Slash Commands, Read Message History. Enable Server Members Intent if you use auto-provision on join.

First-time setup

  1. 1

    Confirm the bot is online

Run /ping. You should get a private “Pong!” reply.

    /ping
  2. 2

    Configure league settings

Use /league-settings configure for channels and the “Open a settings modal…” menu (HoF, commissioner role, betting, deadlines, economy, game version). Prefer setting a timezone so deadlines show correctly.

    /league-settings configure
  3. 3

    Assign teams

Seed teams with /createteams (FBS or paste custom names), then /setteam — search teams and use Assign another for multiple members. Verify with /teams.

    /createteams
  4. 4

    Set team ratings

    Use /set-team-ratings (0–100 OFF/DEF/OVR) so early-season lines have a starting point. Preview with /calculate-lines before locking a /setline.

    /set-team-ratings
  5. 5

    Fund the economy

Optionally enable auto-provision on join in Settings → Economy. Or /giveall for starting coins; /clearcoins to reset a season.

    /giveall

At the start of each season: confirm teams, refresh ratings, reset or top off coins, open Week 1 matchups, then set the first deadline.

Weekly league loop

  1. 01

    Create matchups

Run /setline for each game (user vs user or user vs CPU).

    /setline
  2. 02

    Members bet

Members use /bet or the bet controls on /matchups and /futures.

    /bet
  3. 03

    Optional: close betting

Lock a game with /closematchup before kickoff.

    /closematchup
  4. 04

    Settle scores

After each game, /settle to pay bets. Choose Settle only, or Settle + stats / averages to record the box score in the same wizard. If the score was wrong, /unsettle rolls settlement back so you can settle again.

    /settle
  5. 05

    Enter game stats

If you settled without stats, run /enter-game-stats on settled matchups so line models and power rankings stay accurate.

    /enter-game-stats
  6. 06

    Advance the week

When the league advances in-game, /setdeadline starts the next reminder clock.

    /setdeadline

Optional tools along the way: futures markets, matchup tags, Hall of Fame, CPU profiles, and AI data extraction on Pro plans via the web admin.

Commissioner role without Manage Server

Setting a commissioner Discord role lets trusted staff run the website and bot without giving them Manage Server. Billing and checkout stay Manage Server / owner only.

  1. 1

    Save the role ID

A Manage Server admin sets Commissioner role ID in website Settings (or /league-settings configure → Commissioner).

  2. 2

    Sync Discord command access

On the website Settings page, save or use Sync Discord command access so Integrations allow that role on admin slash commands. Website OAuth must use the same Discord application as the bot; otherwise use the manual Integrations steps below.

  3. 3

    Assign the Discord role

Grant the role only to commissioners. They get website admin tools (except billing) and, after sync, bot admin commands.

  4. 4

    Manual fallback

Server Settings → Integrations → bot → Command permissions → allow the commissioner role on admin commands.

Troubleshooting

I don’t see admin slash commands

Confirm Manage Server / Administrator / owner, or a synced commissioner role. Run /checkadmin if you can. Otherwise Sync Discord command access or set Integrations overrides.

Website admin pages redirect me away

Join a registered server, sign in with Discord, hold the commissioner role (or Manage Server), and refresh. Billing still requires Manage Server or owner.

Lines look off early in the season

Expected with little history. Set team ratings, settle games, and enter stats each week — accuracy improves as results accumulate.

Wizard says the control is no longer valid

Ephemeral wizards expire after restarts or long idle times. Run the slash command again from the start.
